The parade begins at INTEX on Mill Street, follows Main Street through town, and turns onto Farragut Avenue toward Duberson School.

The performance area in front of War Memorial Park is where the parade gets its moment in the spotlight. Bands, dancers, and gymnasts bring their routines to the heart of town.

Here come
the hometown heroes.

Stay for the final wave. Fire trucks and emergency vehicles bring up the rear of the parade every year. Their arrival is the grand finale of a night made by this community.

Parking entrance

Enter from Farragut Avenue by Gaskill Park. Parking areas are marked near Main Street, Reliance Avenue, the schools, and the athletic fields. The marked bus area is for buses only.

Pedestrian drop-off

The marked pedestrian drop-off points are on Mill Street near INTEX. Use the street’s existing crossings.

Road restrictions
around 5–5:30 p.m.

An estimate based on previous parades. Closures can start earlier or later, and traffic builds before the roads close. Arrive early and don’t count on getting through at an exact time.

This year’s police instructions take precedence.

Where’s a good place to watch?

Watch along Main Street. Performance viewing is at War Memorial Park, beside the courthouse. Use the street’s existing crossings and keep access points clear.

Which roads may be affected?

Previous closures have affected Main Street through downtown and Route 50 between Old Egg Harbor Road and River Drive. Streets may close in stages. Follow the current police directions and posted detours; reopening also varies.

When do the fire trucks come?

Fire trucks and emergency vehicles come at the end of the parade every year. Stay for the hometown heroes and give the closing procession a final wave.

What should I check before leaving?

Every October 30, the parade steps off at 6:30 p.m. with activities and finishing time varying on parade day. Check this page for weather announcements and event updates before heading into town.

In 1954, the Mays Landing Rotarians started a parade to give the town something to celebrate on Mischief Night. Generations later, the costumes change, the floats get a little more ambitious, and Main Street still brings everyone together.
