The spirit of Halloween came alive in Mays Landing this year as the community gathered for the much-anticipated Halloween Parade! The event was filled with spectacular performances, creative floats, and dazzling costumes showcasing our local participants’ talent and imagination. Here, we’re thrilled to announce the winners across all categories:
Performance Category:
- 1st Place: Oakcrest Dance Team – Captivating the crowd with an electrifying performance, they took the top spot with their sharp choreography and dynamic energy.
- 2nd Place: Hamilton Township PAL – With an intense routine that combined fun and precision, Hamilton Township PAL impressed the judges and earned second place.
- 3rd Place: Mays Landing Dance Works – Rounding out the top three, Mays Landing Dance Works brought passion and skill to the stage, showcasing their commitment to excellence.
Community Float Category:
- 1st Place: NJ Forest Service – Their creative float with intricate details and a strong community theme earned them first place in this category and the prestigious Best in Parade Overall award!
- 2nd Place: Mays Landing Athletic Association Thrashers Street Hockey – Their float radiated energy and a love for the sport, securing them second place.
- 3rd Place: First United Methodist Church of Mays Landing – Their float blended tradition and fun to the parade, earning them a well-deserved third place.
Commercial Float Category:
- 1st Place: BMB & Sons x Asphalt Appeal – Their partnership led to an eye-catching and memorable float that stood out among commercial entries.
- 2nd Place: Veterans Roofing – Their impressive display, paying tribute to community spirit, earned them second place.
- 3rd Place: Sheppard Bus – Their colorful and engaging float made them a favorite among spectators and judges alike, earning them third place.
Best Group Costumes:
- 1st Place: Gerry Giovinco & Tim Lamezec for their intricately designed Day of the Dead Skeletons.
- 2nd Place: Dana Stadtmueller and Company as the stellar Guardians of the Galaxy, who brought the Marvel universe to life.
- 3rd Place: Frances Family for their nostalgic and well-coordinated Ghostbusters outfits.
Best 15+ Costume:
- 1st Place: MOF by Kate Harry – Kate’s costume was original and detailed, earning her the top spot in this age category.
- 2nd Place: Grinch by Shaun Bariss – Shaun’s whimsical interpretation of the classic character won over the crowd and judges.
- 3rd Place: McDonald’s by Shawn Fook & Mumsie the Frenchie – This dynamic duo brought fun and smiles to the parade, capturing third place.
Best Push/Pull Small Floats:
- 1st Place: Krakenship by Tabitha Gancarz – Tabitha’s incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail made this small float a big hit.
- 2nd Place: Jurassic Park by Allie Hegarty – Allie’s float transported spectators to the prehistoric era, earning second place.
- 3rd Place: Deadpool & Wolverine by Audrey Walker – Audrey’s float had a playful and humorous touch that secured her third place.
